Guilford Sound currently houses artists in a recently restored historic 1790's farmhouse. The five-bedroom, three-season house is unique in that it retains original features, including its central chimney and much of its interior woodwork. Dave and Sara have spent considerable time and energy restoring the house in a way that stays true to its heritage while providing comfortable and cozy housing.
We are also in the beginning phase of constructing a modern housing facility built directly into the Vermont landscape that will easily accommodate up to 12 people. In keeping with our quest to minimize our impact, the new passive solar building will be high performance, with three sides underground and topped with a living roof. There will be five bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and a large common room for meetings or comfortable lounging. The design is complete, ground has been broken, and construction has begun! We hope to have the building ready for guests by early 2014.
